Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is the practice of structuring your website's content, schema, and technical foundation so that AI-powered search engines — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and Google AI Overviews — cite your brand when answering user questions. Unlike traditional SEO, which optimizes for ranking in a list of blue links, GEO optimizes for inclusion inside the AI-generated answer itself. The Summer of AI GEO Cohort is a 4-week live program that teaches the diagnostic, content, technical, and measurement work required to move a single website from zero AI citations to a tracked, measurable citation rate within 90 days.
Course at a glance
Session 1 — How AI Engines Decide What to Cite (Jun 23) The mechanics: query fan-out, retrieval, re-ranking, synthesis. Platform-specific behaviors across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude. You'll baseline your current visibility.
Session 2 — The Three Levers That Move the Needle (Jun 30) Statistics Addition, Cite Sources, and Quotation Addition — the three Princeton-researched strategies that produce the largest citation lift. You'll rewrite one of your pages live.
Session 3 — The Technical GEO Stack (Jul 7) Schema stacking in JSON-LD, llms.txt deployment, robots.txt fixes (including the Cloudflare default-block trap), and live site audits.
Session 4 — Measurement and the 90-Day Plan (Jul 21) Building your dashboard, tracking Mention Rate / Citation Rate / Share of Model, setting a refresh cadence, and presenting your 90-day plan to the cohort.
Each Tuesday live session is followed by a Thursday lab (1:00 PM ET, 60 min) where we work on participant sites in real time.
